#LATINASINSTARTUPS: ENTER ACCESS LATINA'S BUSINESS COMPETITION, WIN THOUSANDS
Are you a mujer in business? Access Latina has an opportunity that could help get your startup off the ground.
The program, one of the first designed to support Latina business owners with the capital and resource investments they need to reach their entrepreneurial and economic potential, is accepting applications for its business competition.
"Investing in women's economic development is a significant economic driver for any country," Access Latina co-founder Lucienne Gigante said in a press release. "Latina-owned businesses have increased nearly 200% over the past decade and we want to help them grow through access to mentorship, networks and opportunities," co-founderMarta Michelle Colon added.
According to Access Latina’s website, participants must be Latinas who are 18 years old or older and are legal residents of the U.S. or Puerto Rico, with their venture headquarters located in Washington, D.C., New York, Florida or Puerto Rico.
They should also be a shareholder of the company, with at least 20 percent ownership and a management leadership position. The company, which must generate at least $100,000 in annual sales, though no more than $1 million, must also belong to industries like STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics), agriculture or social innovation.
Each winner will receive a $25,000 grant, along with a crowdfunding round, training, publicity, mentoring and access to the program’s high-profile network of entrepreneurs and investors. Renowned global entrepreneurship leader John Mullins will also be hosting an exclusive business webinar for the winners.
Get up off your nalgas because this amazing opportunity ends soon. Applications for the business competition run through Friday, Dec. 11 – that’s this week! If you think your startup has what it takes (and you should!), apply today.
