The Joie Girl's Guide: August 4-10

Art Everywhere is the world's largest outdoor art exhibition, and it has officially hit the Big Apple. As of today and until the end of August, Times Square's billboards will be displaying 58 works of American art rounded up from some of the best museums and galleries in the country, including the Los Angeles Museum of Art, the Dallas Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and NY's Whitney Museum. It's a chance to see a spectacular range of art from classics to contemporary pieces, and you don't even have to make a trip to the museum. Times Square, at 42nd Street and Broadway, New York.

Three must really be the magic number, because it's the number of sisters in HAIM, the LA-native pop rock band that always makes it onto our playlists. This Thursday, August 7th and Friday, August 8th the threesome will be performing at the Wiltern, and it's a concert we definitely don't want to miss. Get your tix.

Interior design is the kind of thing that we'll never tire of, so we're a little more than excited that Motley, a Danish e-shop, just opened its first brick-and-mortar in East Hollywood. It's quickly becoming our favorite place to browse mid-century furniture pieces that play to our Mad Men fantasies. You're guaranteed to find acrylic chairs and cool walnut tables to add a little vintage je-ne-sais-quoi to your pad. 4876 Fountain Avenue, Los Angeles.

SF gals, heading to Outside Lands this weekend? We've teamed up with Farmgirl Flowers to bring you a night filled with floral crown-making to get you ready for Tegan & Sara, The Kooks and more. Stop by our SF location and pick out your favorite stems to have woven into a blooming headpiece that's definitely music festival-worthy. Come hang out with us this Thursday, August 7th, 7-8 PM. 2116 Fillmore Street, San Francisco.

We're really thankful for the people that got their creative juices flowing and started GreenHopping, an app that locates the closest green juice bars and plant-based food spots nearest to you. Though the app started in New York, it just recently expanded to 13 other cities in the US--so next time you need a quick pick-me-up and don't want to resort to the nearest hot dog cart, you're totally covered. Download it here. #HappyHopping!
